COSine 2027 is January 22-24, 2027, at the Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs.
Okay, so it has been a long time since you’ve heard from us. All I can say is that alien abduction is much more time-consuming than you’d think–there’s all the time in the alien ship, then the mandatory time you have to spend being interviewed by Steven Spielberg.
Working out hotel details has also been quite challenging, and we were starting to think we’d end up in a tent in the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot. But thankfully, we can now announce that COSine 2027 will be held at the Great Wolf Lodge! More on that in a bit.
First, I want to tell you about our 2027 Guests:
- Mur Lafferty – Mur is a science fiction author and podcaster. Her novel Six Wakes was a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, and her podcast Ditch Diggers won the 2018 Best Fancast Hugo Award. Cory Doctorow (our 2026 GoH) called Mur “…one of the worst-kept secrets in science fiction and fantasy publishing.”
- Ness Brown – Our Science Guest of Honor Ness is an astrophysicist and author. Ness’s work focuses on how the birth of the first stars and supermassive black holes affected cosmic evolution.
- Robin Monogue – Robin, our Artist Guest of Honor, is a fiber artist, weaver, and crafter. She is also a long-time friend of COSine, responsible for many of the early covers for the convention program book.
- Connie Willis – Special Guest and Sci-Fi Grand Master. Connie is one of the most awarded science fiction writers working today and is an invaluable part of the science fiction community—encouraging, teaching, and sharing her stories.
- Courtney Willis – Special Guest, the remarkable Science. He’s amazing at demonstrating and explaining scientific topics, and a collector of side-interests, including sewing machines, quilting, telescopes, and slide rules, and is likely currently studying the high-level multi-dimensional topology required to fit everything into the Willis house.

Hotel
As many of you are aware, we had some challenges with our previous hotel, and we were unable to resolve them in a timely manner for COSine 2027. However, we are excited about our new venue, the Great Wolf Lodge!
Great Wolf Lodge has a fantastic event space and is a lovely hotel that just happens to also have a 50,000 square foot indoor water park attached! While more expensive than we are used to, they have offered our members a rate of $169/night, which is a lot lower than their regular rate. The rate includes:
- A Deluxe Queen Suite (up to 4 people)
- Complimentary parking (usually $20/night)
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Full access to the water park (if you are so inclined)
The hotel has multiple on-site restaurants and snack spots, and there are also many restaurants close by. Unfortunately, it is a pet-free facility, so only service dogs/miniature horses are allowed (which, sadly, also excludes emotional support animals).
You can register on their website here or call them at 844-553-9653. In either case, use the registration code 2701COSI to get the reduced rate. The rate is only available until January 4th, 2027.
If you have trouble, ping us at info@cosinecon.org, and we’ll work with the hotel to sort it out.
Great Wolf Lodge is close to I-25 and Interquest Parkway (exit 153), so a bit closer for people coming down from Denver. (Apologies to our friends from Albuquerque who will have to travel a bit further). We are very slowly drifting northward. At the current rate, we will be in Canada in 2181 and should hit the North Pole by 2649. It may be slightly warmer there than our 2026 hotel…
Registering for COSine 2027
Registration for COSine is now open! We’d kept it closed until either a hotel or Chuck E. signed the contract. (We did get an early offer from someone named Chucky, but we eventually realized they were not the same puppet).
The cost of registration goes up at the end of October, and it is really helpful for our heartburn if you can register as early as possible!
If you are not sure whether you registered at the last COSine, you can check using our online registration lookup tool.
Dealers Den, Authors Alley, Art Show
Normally we’ve reached out to dealers, authors, and artists by now. However, we haven’t quite yet figured out exactly how everything will be laid out, so we don’t know how many tables and panels we will have available. Please give us a little time to figure that out. We hope to reach out with details in the first few weeks of August…
